2face Idibia, Olu Maintain Headline Anti Malaria Campaign

2face Idibia, Olu Maintain Headline Anti Malaria Campaign

Malaria is the leading cause of death in Nigeria, with over 300,000 lives lost per year. It kills more than 820 people every day and the Nigerian entertainment industry is lending its voice to a campaign against the disease. The campaign included the release of a national malaria anthem, Play Your Part, sung by the trio of 2Face Idibia, Sani Danja and Eve B a few weeks ago.

There is also a campaign on social media tagged #NetNation, aimed at encouraging people to sleep under mosquito nets.

The campaign is aimed at driving drive conversations that will encourage individuals and nursing mothers to protect themselves from malaria by using mosquito nets and encouraging their friends and family members to do same.

In Play Your Part, the malaria anthem that gives a nod to the National Malaria Eradication Program’s (NMEP) slogan, For a Malaria Free Nigeria: Play Your Part, 2face sings that ‘Malaria-free is a possibility but warns that it will take a lot of effort from you and me’.

These messages will be further highlighted creatively by the #NetNation campaign on social media platforms and will last for six weeks.

2face has been a voice to reckon with in matters that affect Nigeria. Just before the general election he led a ‘Vote Not Fight’ campaign.
